Page 1 of 2 Similar to stained glass, this effect makes photo look as if it was photocopied onto translucent plastic placed over multicolored lights. Learn how to add this beautiful effect with Photoshop. Ink on Plastic Photoshop TutorialChoose File > Open and choose an image file to open into Photoshop. Press Ctrl+J to duplicate the layer. You should now have two layers. Change the blending mode of the new layer to Multiply. With the top layer selected, choose Image > Adjustment > Threshold. Adjust the settings to get the results that you desire. Select the Background layer and press Ctrl+J to create another duplicate of the layer. Choose Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Adjust the setting so that the colors look soft but not so much that it overly bleeds to an area it doesn't belong to. Select the top layer then click on the New Adjustment Layer button in the Layers palette. Choose Gradient. This Gradient will help add a glow spot. In the Gradient Fill tool, copy the settings from the image below. Change the blending mode of the Gradient Fill layer to Overlay. Now add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. This layer will be used to increase the saturation. Increase the saturation setting until the image looks vivid. If you do this too much, the image will start to posterize.
