Ink on Plastic Photoshop Tutorial

Choose File > Open and choose an image file to open into Photoshop.

1

Press Ctrl+J to duplicate the layer. You should now have two layers. Change the blending mode of the new layer to Multiply.

2

With the top layer selected, choose Image > Adjustment > Threshold. Adjust the settings to get the results that you desire.

3

Select the Background layer and press Ctrl+J to create another duplicate of the layer.

4

Choose Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Adjust the setting so that the colors look soft but not so much that it overly bleeds to an area it doesn't belong to.

5

Select the top layer then click on the New Adjustment Layer button in the Layers palette. Choose Gradient. This Gradient will help add a glow spot.

6

In the Gradient Fill tool, copy the settings from the image below.

7

Change the blending mode of the Gradient Fill layer to Overlay.

8

Now add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. This layer will be used to increase the saturation.

9

Increase the saturation setting until the image looks vivid. If you do this too much, the image will start to posterize.
